In 1961, due to the increasing demand for a good English medium school, Baroda Lions Club Education Trust started BARODAHIGH SCHOOL.
The School was initially started in a temporary location in Salatwada area and then relocated to its current location, courtesy Maharaja Fatehsinh Rao Gaekwad, who offered the premises, Bagihkana for a nominal rental.
The first Principal of the school was Mrs. P. N. Kavoori who set very high standards and under whose guidance, THE CLASS OF 67 studied strict morals and ethics, played games and naughty pranks, enjoyed, and finally graduated in 1967. During these years we build a strong foundation for a FRIENDSHIP which has endured to this day and remains strong.
After graduation most of us went to M.S. University for further studies, some of us went to other institutions and a few even got married. We all followed different careers, businessmen/women, engineers, doctors, scientists, architects, some dedicated themselves to families, and many of us relocated to different parts of the world. Wherever we went, we followed the values of our education and the pride of being a Barodian, and took along special memories of our school days.
In 1993 many of us met for the FIRST REUNION in Washington DC. It was fun filled 4 days that took us back to 1967 and the joys of school days.
Since then, we have kept in touch with each other and now we are ready for another REUNION - 38 YEARS after we graduated in 1967.
Please join us for the CRUISE, let us be nostalgic about the school days, share our special friendship, and enjoy few moments of happiness together. For detailed information please click on the following link BHS Cruise.
